Dive into your movement flow!
Inspired by the cellular consciousness practice of Deborah Hay I want to offer you strategies to get back in touch with yourself, your body. While working on your physical alignment, coordination and strength you will have time to listen to yourself and discover the deep wisdom of what lies already in you.

Who is sharing the practice?
In my dance practice I focus on contemporary techniques like Flying Low, contact improvisation and principles from Axis Syllabus. Aside from that I am learning movement strategies with Jonathan Schmid since September 2022, recently also joining his and Daniel Peters movement teacher training. From their mentoring I incorporate elements of strength training, somatic practices and martial arts into my movement practie.

How can I imagine the practice?
In the beginning of each class we will take time to arrive in the moment and create the space to work from within. Through exercises of contemporary dance and my movement practice based on somatic work, martial arts and strength training, you will discover the infinite possibilities of movement flowing through your body. Finally, you will be able to take the time to listen and follow your own flow.

Philosophy of the Practice
For me dance and movement are an essential part of every day, however I see a tendency in many humans lives to be in mental spaces the majority of their day. Working on the computer, consuming social media, philosophying about life,… you get the point – with my work as a teacher I want to provide space for reconnecting with your body, allowing feelings and sensations back into your reality.
Review of previous practitioners:

I really enjoyed Johanna’s workshops, she somehow manages to put you in a discomfort while at the same time gently pushes you and guides you through it. I would recommend her classes to anyone who wants to go deep within and not just stay on a surface or in a comfort zone. What also really stayed with me after the classes is that they were never the same, I never felt bored and she adapts them to different levels.

I experienced Johanna as a very genuine and centred teacher in her workshops. Her relaxed yet very structured way of leading the group sessions made me completely lose track of time. Which for me is a sign that she managed to really focus my attention deep into my body.
As a movement practitioner for many years, this was the first time I had been given an in-depth practice on how to get the body to move as naturally as possible in the space, for which I am extremely grateful.
